Up and down..

Fri – rest
Sat – 4k race, 40min jogging
Sun – 30min to Beacon, 4xBeacon hill, 30min back (ish), 15min Kettlebell/squats etc

The sniffles persist. Well, not so much the sniffles, more just an irritating sore throat that insists on niggling away. From experience, ‘ moderate’ exercise is fine in such a situation, but anything intense just batters your immune system. Generally staying warm, dry and well rested is advisable.

So what does Michelle do? Oh yes: she does a short, sharp 4k effort, then proceeds to stand in the rain all day. Following this, she comes home, goes for a jog in the rain, cycles to the pub (in the rain), then gets up and goes for a bike ride.. in the rain. So, basically, if I don’t get better soon it is in fact my own damn fault.

However, snivelling started on Thursday night, so hopefully by next Thursday night, i’ll be sorted. Just got to drink loads and loads of herbal tea. Becuase clearly that will solve everything.

On a more positive note, I started my bike ride today with the attitude of ‘well, if I get up the stupid beacon at least once i’ll be happy.’ In the end, stubborness won the day and I finished the planned session – even if the last rep was like a graveyard shift..

I am an NCTJ qualified journalist and copywriter with a year’s worth of experience as a local hack, and just under two years’ of experience working in the marketing department for a highstreet retailer. I do a little freelance writing alongside my job, and have written for Runner’s World, Triathlete’s World, Sussex Sport, Basingstoke Gazette newspaper, the Brighton Argus, Steve Hart Photography and 2LK Design. I blog to record the activities in my life which I don’t want to forget when I’m old and wrinkly (let’s hope the internet never melts down – but it seems safer than a notebook) – to let old friends and family know what I’m up to, and because I enjoy playing with words.
